E1 Camping Trip to Antique Alley, Richmond, Indiana (9/28-30)

This is a continuation of last year's trip, where it ended up taking us the whole weekend just to do the first trail. This year we'll do the second trail. We'll set up the camper at Summit Lake State Park and venture forth on Saturday and Sunday to get our fill of all things old, unique, cheap, priceless, etc. We'll provide transportation, accommodations in the O'Neil tent camper, Friday supper and Sat. and Sun. breakfast; other meals and costs are Dutch treat.

Experienced amateur geologist/naturalist Steve Molk will lead the group to Cowan Lake State Park in southwest Ohio to find and collect our own Ordovician fossils. Who knows - we might find an elusive trilobite! Possibly includes a stop at Deer Creek State Park for some different fossils.

E8 Trip Through History with Green Lawn

Meet at Green Lawn Chapel at 10 am to view a short DVD on the history of the park & cemetery, light refreshments, a guided tour of the chapel (with Tiffany artwork) and the surrounding area. Then at 11 am, join volunteer coordinator Sandi Lattimer at the First Saturday educational program on the Lazarus family provided by the local authors of a recently published book. A walking/driving tour of selected sites will highlight Ohio bicentennial & UU related personages. The group will complete the day with a late Dutch treat lunch at a nearby restaurant (such as Max & Erma's, Schmidt's, etc.).

Brief (under 30 minutes) presentation before setting sail, and at least one hour on the water in a "Sunfish clone" - a two person, 12-foot boat with a well for legs and feet while you sit on the deck top. Wear a bathing suit in case of tipping (about a one in four chance). BYOB and lunch or snacks for yourself or to share while waiting your turn on the water.

Join us for a road trip to Jungle Jim's International Market in Fairfield, Ohio, near Cincinnati. Come and see what all the talk is about...
