The flags do not carry prayers to gods, which is a common misconception; rather, the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all pervading space. | Would you like to try out a new art form that takes no skill or talent and is completely spontaneous (as much as you can make it so)? Try art journaling! This isn't your "how to book" art journaling, though. There's no fancy lettering, just taking an old/interesting book, and collaging/painting/drawing on the pages to make them something new. It's relaxing and freeing because there are no expectations! You will be provided with a book, various types of art supplies, various saved papers and a space to discover this new medium! | 1950s Picnic |
| Join us for an old-fashion picnic with food made with recipes from the 1950s! Expect potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, jello "surprise," watermelon, iced tea, lemonade and lots more. Desserts will include pies, cupcakes and homemade ice cream. There will be lots of 1950s games too. You'll play croquet and horseshoes with vintage equipment, listen to the Weavers singing 1950s protest songs or just enjoy the quiet on the swing in the garden. This will be held at Kitty's house at 691 River Bend Blvd., rain or shine. If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, we'll meet in the downstairs "retro" apartment. | Cycle on the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail from the Botzum Trailhead to Peninsula (6.7 miles on flat terrain), shop or get an ice cream cone in Peninsula, then ride the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad back, relax and enjoy a picnic meal. BYOB (bring-your-own-bicycle). All ages! All skill levels! Price includes train ride and picnic meal.
