Asheville Beer Seminar! |
|
BEER SEMINAR, May 18-19, 2018. Asheville NC is a paradise for beer research. More than a dozen breweries make craft beers (microbrews) there, some of which are not even bottled (visitors drink the available supply!).
Hosts Steve and Stephanie Seay and John and Lillian Mashburn will lead a field trip on this weekend. Participants arrange their own lodging and transport (carpooling available). Downtown Inn & Suites has been popular for lodging. We always have room for a dozen beer enthusiasts for this weekend, to serve as research interns. We also welcome a few designated drivers who want great camaraderie and dining, minus the alcohol.
Friday at happy hour, we'll meet at a delightful pub in the River Arts district, and later move on to supper and other pubs that evening.
Saturday morning, you have individual options like the wonderful North Asheville Tailgate Farmer’s Market on the nearby UNC Asheville campus, along with the adjacent Botanical Garden; the Montford Music & Arts Festival; or free strolling Asheville shops and sights. Lunch will be at the scenic Grove Park Inn’s Sunset Terrace. Later we will tour a brewery or two, perhaps shop for Asheville beer at Ingles, and then enjoy dinner together at a to-be-determined restaurant.
Sunday, those who can linger will meet for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel on Tunnel Road. Fixed Price: $20.00 |
