$30 - Imperfect Produce
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
Use this gift certificate to order a customized box of produce to be delivered right to your door. Minimal packaging is used to reduce waste.

More than 20% of the fruits and vegetables grown in America never make it off the farm because they aren’t perfect enough for grocery store standards resulting in billions of pounds of wasted produce every year. We’re talking about produce that is just as nutritious and delicious but looks a little different. With so many delicious fruits and vegetables going to waste, we decided we had to do something.

Imperfect fights food waste by finding a home for ‘ugly’ produce. We source it directly from farms and deliver it to customers’ doors for 30-50% less than grocery store prices. By eating ‘ugly,’ you’re helping build a more sustainable and effective food system. You’re helping fight food waste, ensure farmers are rewarded for their full harvest with less wasted land, fossil fuels, and water, and improve access to healthy food.

Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born hardcover book
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed." With those words, millions of readers were introduced to Stephen King's Roland - an implacable gunslinger in search of the enigmatic Dark Tower, powering his way through a dangerous land filled with ancient technology and deadly magic. Now, in a comic book personally overseen by King himself, Roland's past is revealed! Sumptuously drawn by Jae Lee and Richard Isanove, adapted by long-time Stephen King expert Robin Furth (author of Stephen King's The Dark Tower: A Concordance) and scripted by New York Times bestseller Peter David, this series delves in depth into Roland's origins - the perfect introduction to this incredibly realized world; while long-time fans will thrill to adventures merely hinted at in the novels. Retail value $25.

Homemade Middle Eastern Crushed Lentil Soup

Offering two quarts (eight cups) of homemade, Middle Eastern crushed (red) lentil soup. This recipe is very close to the one my favorite restaurant in the Detroit area, Pita Cafe, uses.

I will provide two quarts of this fantastic soup on Sunday, March 4 or 11.

This is a vegan recipe, contains almost no fat and is very high in fiber.

Did I mention it's simply delicious?

Go ahead - Make me smile!!!
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
As an experienced Photoshop artist, Jim Parks can do any number of tricks to enhance your favorite photos. While he may not be able to make you smile on paper, he can brighten your day by electronically repairing tears, scratches, faded contrast, and in some cases faded color. Isolating a subject from its background, adding drop shadows, removing dust specks and putting your head on another person's body are also possible. Dig out those treasured or historic family photos and have them spruced up for your display shelves or as gifts. He will work on as many photos as possible in one hour from either prints (up to 8.5 x 11) which he will scan and return, or from electronic files. You will get back electronic files to print in the size you desire. To see examples, visit http://www.jpedit.com/category/photo-restoration.

Flourless Chocolate Cake - Gluten/Dairy Free

Do you LOVE chocolate?! Are you gluten or dairy free? I make an amazing 9" flourless chocolate cake with 5 organic ingredients: organic chocolate, eggs, sugar, cocoa powder, and coconut oil. Flavored with vanilla and cinnamon, or cayenne and cinnamon this cake is delightful. It serves 8-10 people and is a very rich, decadent, and luscious chocolate treat that pairs nicely with sorbet, fruit or whipped cream. If dairy is an option, I can replace the organic coconut oil with grass-fed butter. Please request your cake a week in advance. I'm willing to work with your schedule with advance notice. This way I can have it ready when you need it and it will be delivered to your door! Perfect for serving at a party, holiday, or birthday!

Your Mayan Experience!!! Many in our group have been to Mexico and have experienced the early Mayan cuisine, and want to bring it to you for your enjoyment. We will entertain you with some Mayan historical anecdotes, stories and songs and then tantalize your taste buds with a Mayan Cuisine cooked by chefs Joan, Judy, Rosie, Carolyn, Karin and Mila (too many cooks…..) and have your dining enhanced by servers John, Terry and Nile. The Maya ate very well. They hunted wild turkey, deer, ducks, and even monkey. They caught fish. They ate bird eggs. They grew sweet potatoes, corn, beans, chilies, and squash. Corn was called maize. Out of all their foods, maize was the most important. They made corn flour and used it to make tortillas and other kinds of foods. Your dining will feature Guacamole, Poc chuc, Michalada, Tortillas, beans, “Dog Snout” Salsa, and authentic tamales, and a chocolate wonder for dessert. (We'll also sneak in some wine). Don’t know what some of this is? Trust us, you will love it!!
Presented by Joan Greene, Judy Grace, Rosie Sammons, Carolyn Skipper, Karin Cecere, Mila Tellez, John Tandarich, Terry Grace, and Nile Wendorf.

Cannas planted in your garden
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
I will plant 12 cannas in a prepared spot at your home or other location within 25 miles of the church. Cannas are tropical flowers, the variety I have grows to about 5 feet high with broad sword-like leaves and spikes that produce brilliant scarlet flowers. If you deadhead the flower spikes they will bloom prolifically all season. Cannas will grow best with lots of sun and moist soil. Cannas are planted only an inch or so deep. They grow from rhizomes not technically bulbs and the rhizomes grow horizontally. Being tropical they will not survive the winter in this part of the world unless you dig them up and store them in a dry dark cool place for the winter. They are easy to dig and to store and they will last forever and multiply with minor care. Of course you can leave them in the ground and buy new as desired. Note: Planting must be after the soil is warm, late April to late May for best results. After June is too late. Cannas can do well in larger planters if kept moist.

The Flower of Prayer
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
The Flower of Prayer is an abstract sculpture in found wood (an elm wood branch I completed in 2015). It is 21” tall with a chiseled dark granite base 5” x 6” x 1”. It has two arms reaching upward, a head/body between and a small conical bud in the center. The feeling it brings to me is the universality of yearning, whether via prayer or declared hope. I do not suppose these yearnings all have the same moral or ethical content, just that we all have them, whether said out loud or within. Valued at $600.

1940’s San Francisco Supper Club & Film Noir Evening
Invalid Image LinkSold

Join Sam Spade and Brigid O'Shaughnessy (aka Richard Means and Anne Rooney) for a complete film noir evening - inspired by Dashiell Hammett’s original 1930 novel and John Huston’s classic 1941 film, "The Maltese Falcon." We’ll begin our noir experience with 1940s-era fancy cocktails and appetizers in the living room. Our San Francisco Supper Club experience then moves to a sumptuous dinner that would impress even the orneriest Humphrey Bogart: made-from–scratch Caesar salad, garlic and herb rub prime rib, rosemary-infused roasted potatoes, and a selection of lush California wines. After dinner, we’ll settle in to our home theater to enjoy a decadent dessert - as well as Bogie, Sydney Greenstreet, and Peter Lorre trying to outwit each other in search of the treasure buried within the mysterious Maltese Falcon. In the immortal words of Sam Spade himself, this is “…the stuff that dreams are made of.” NOTE: Fedora hats, mink stoles, and hats with feathers are optional, but always encouraged.
