Universalist Historic Sign
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
Found at a local flea market...A rare & vintage (1950s or earlier) metal sign that once hung on the side of a Universalist Church at 6 Broad St. in some American town. (NYC?) It has an enamel finish...the same on both sides. It measures 20" x 27" and it is in excellent condition. There are a few light scratches here and there but they do not detract.

This belongs in the collection of a UU, so bid away. Ken's educated guess is the value would be around $200, but the bidding begins at $75.

This is the perfect gift for your beloved wife, or girlfriend:
Every girl dreams about being treated like a princess. Here is a serious opportunity to get pampered. The Mohonk Mountain House in the Shawangunk Mountains is rated as the number one Spa in the US. It is absolutely magnificent and often referred to as the "Castle in the Sky".

Amy Olander and Birgit Woelker will offer a trip to the Castle in the Sky on Saturday, January 11, 2014 for 4 women. We will leave at 8 a.m. from the Fellowship, spend 5-6 hours at Mohonk, get our nails done, sit in the warm mineral outside whirlpool surrounded by snow-covered mountains, use the various saunas, hang out in the solarium, sip organic infusion teas, take a tour through the magnificent castle from the Golden Age, stroll the grounds outside (weather-depending) and have lunch in the castle in front of a roaring fire place.

The minimal cost for this offer will be $80.00 (this excludes gratuities). Fiftyfive dollars of your offer will cover the costs of the spa including lunch. Every dollar you spend above $55 will go to the Fellowship. We plan to return to the Fellowship around 8pm. I will offer light refreshments on the trip (about 2.5 hrs each way).

What does your existing outdoor space have to be a native bird sanctuary? What does it need? How can its attractiveness to different kinds of birds be enhanced?

I've put 20 years into making my 60 x 100' in-town yard the wonderful sanctuary it is today using the right plantings, appropriate and well-placed feeders and attractive water features. Let me spend an hour getting to know your yard and I will write out an analysis of its attractiveness with ideas for making it your own sanctuary!

Custom Wax Seal
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
Just in time for sending out holiday cards, get your own custom wax seal! Close your mail like Ned Stark or King Arthur, with any symbol you want. For example, the Board gave Nancy a seal with the UUFH Chalice as a parting gift.

I will design a personalized seal just for you - your initials or a custom logo. The rule of thumb is that if you can draw in a 3/4" circle with a dull pencil, it will most likely work well as a seal.

All seals are made using metal 3D printing, which builds the seal from a stainless steel powder. The model is then infused with bronze to set it. Includes 4 sticks of premium sealing wax. 3-4 week delivery time.

ADHD Consultation
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
ADHD isn't just kid-stuff! It appears in children and adults who are hyperactive and/or inattentive, but lesser known presentations are bright underachievers, people with motivation or organization problems, the class/office clown, people who act/speak before they think, people who are depressed or anxious and don't respond to common medications, people who over-abuse substances, etc., etc.... If you are or if you love someone who is one of the above, considering ADHD as the underlying problem might help. You'll get a two-hour consultation plus a follow-up visit. 1 0 000500.0 500 .0005E7 50

Twilight Zone Party
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Rod Serling, creator of the 1950s-60s "The Twilight Zone", was a Unitarian. The episodes are eerily relevant to this day. Please join us for a mini-marathon of episodes because there will be time then, time enough to last. A light dinner will be served - probably not enough to sustain a Canamit, but more than enough for life in Willoughby. We believe that you will enjoy this because people are alike all over.
This event was originally scheduled for April 27, 2014 at 4:00pm and was changed to Saturday, April 26 so that Nikki and Bruce could witness their daughter receive an award. Hooray!

Wine and Divination
Invalid Image LinkSold

Since the Dawn of Consciousness, Humankind has sought to catch a glimpse into the future. We have devised many methods to achieve this, with many failures but sometimes with coincidental successes, accidental successes, and legitimate bona fide “I have seen the future!” successes.

Please join us in a glass of wine or two to aid our foray into the unknown, murky future via “scrying,” a method of divination through a fire/water/crystal meditation.

Bring a recording device or pen and paper. I will supply the rest.

This is a goal setting meditation. Come prepared!

Second Annual NUUDE Calendar by Ken Farrell
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
This is a unique offering for one page on the 2014 UUFH All NUUDE Photo Calendar. I am looking for 13 (one for the cover) brave couples, singles, men, women, committees, groups, etc. to pose for a respectable nude photo. The photos will reveal just enough and try to convey a sense of humor and some sense of decency. Areas of the human body will be covered or hidden to the subject's comfort level (think lamps, guitars, snow blowers, flowers, pets, etc). You can choose the location, (your home is best for me) but outdoors, a friend's house, in the park or beach if fine. We can work together to come up with a suitable theme. If you would like November, December or October...think Thanksgiving, Christmas or Halloween. Other Holidays can be considered as well.

This idea is not new as a fundraiser; it has been done at other UU Fellowships and many churches and organizations. The idea was popularized by the movie Calendar Girls. Last year's calendar raised over $1000 for the Fellowship.

We have to move fast after the auction, as this has to be published and sold for the holidays, no procrastinating and no chickening out, think it through before you bid...you will be seen by many. All ages over 21 are welcome. If you are shy, don't apply! Old hippies, time to be crazy again.

Don't forget to bid live on the fully autographed calendar from last year.

If a large portion of the congregation wants to take off their clothes, I will put it on the cover.

CLAMBAKE!
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Come join us on our patio for a traditional New England lobster boil! We’ll start with a big platter of raw oysters a la mignonette and some Long Island chowdah, then head over to the Weber for some grilled shrimp skewers. Meanwhile, in our big blue speckled enamelware pot we’ll be boiling up lobsters with clams, mussels, sausage, onions and potatoes. There’ll be fresh local corn on the cob with lots of butter, crisp green salad, and cole slaw. For dessert, blueberry pie topped with vanilla ice cream, and watermelon. With, of course, iced tea, lemonade, Long Island wines, and frosty microbrews. And cloth bibs for everyone! Afterwards, stay for a showing of the 1967 classic, “Clambake” (with Elvis Presley, Shelley Fabares and Bill Bixby). Who says summer ends with Labor Day? 14 2 000015.0 15 .0003E7 30 9/6/14 5:00 PM

Join us for a sunset cruise aboard Christeen, the oldest 40' gaff rigged oyster sloop in North America. Christeen is a National Historic Landmark built in 1883 right here on Long Island's North Shore. She is beautifully restored and sails out of the WaterFront Center in Oyster Bay. The boat sails with a Captain and two crew who do all the work while you are served wine, soda, beer and snacks (cheese, crackers, hummus, veggies and fruit) provided by Kim Schultze. The sail will last for two hours (6-8 pm) in the unique National Wildlife Refuge within Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbors (depending upon wind). Food and alcohol are allowed on board.
